SALIVARY GLANDS TUMORS

The salivary glands are small organs located in the head and neck area of our body that produce saliva to help digestion and secrete it through special channels (ducts) into the mouth, nose, throat, esophagus, and sinuses.

Major salivary glands:

Parotid gland: Salivary gland in front of the ear.

Submandibular gland: Salivary gland under the jaw.

Sublingual gland: Salivary gland under the tongue.

Minor salivary glands:

There are 750-1000 salivary glands that start from the lip area and go up to the windpipe. Surgery is required to treat problems in the salivary gland. Surgical procedures are applied using various techniques depending on the operation area. It is particularly important to minimize complications when performing surgery on this area, as the facial nerves pass through the parotid gland.
